This story sort of reminds me of all those times that the obituary of somebody who isn’t quite dead yet hits the web anyway, but at least when that happens most of the reported events have already occurred.
China’s Xinhua news agency recently posted an article about the successful beginning of the Shenzhou 7 space mission, complete with quotes from conversations between the astronauts on board. The only problem? The thing hadn’t launched yet, and the article was dated 2 days into the future, September 27th to be exact.
An employee speaking on behalf of the XinhuaNet website said that the publication of the article was an error by a technician, but did not describe the time machine technology that was used to get such detailed quotes.
