As you may or may not have noticed, comments by email seem to be working again for the most part. I woke up this morning to an inbox full of feedback new and old, as well as a message from Echo support explaining what at least part of the problem is.
As it turns out, the trouble is one of those double edged sword type of deals. The upgrades from Haloscan to Echo are still going on and so they’ve been adding more and more new customers very quickly as people decide to take them up on the offer. This is good because it means more money in their pocket, but it also means that the servers have to work harder as more people start using them. They’ve been dealing with long mail cues and because of that things tend to slow way down and unfortunately fall over from time to time when things get too crazy.
I imagine these troubles will likely be a thing of the past once all of the crazy migration starts to level off. To be honest I’m amazed they’ve done this well and that we’ve only had this problem twice. Good job once again, Echo. I’d say so on your message board praise area, but that thing gives JAWS trouble so I’ll stick to doing so here and through my thank you emails.
