Well damn it all. This is some pretty sad news.
I’ve talked about Talks before and how cool it is. Now, I just heard that Torsten Brand, the Product Manager for Talks and Zooms, has died from complications of surgery. He was only in his 40’s.
By all accounts, Torsten was an awesome individual. If it wasn’t for him and Marcus Groeber, there would have been no Talks. Talks and products like it changed the face of cell phones for us and made so many things possible. Cell phones went from things we could barely use if we memorized button presses, and god help us if we mucked up a setting, to the fully-functional, powerful tools that everyone else was enjoying, and all because somebody thought of a way to make that possible.
I really don’t know what else to say. He will be missed, and he left a giant legacy. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
