Ricky Flowerskinda sorta had the right idea. I’m running from the cops, he thought. So best I scale this here high fence, drop down the other side and run like the wind!
Unfortunately for him, he ran into 2 problems.
1. the 30 foot fence he scaled was topped with barbed wire.
And
2. The drop on the other side landed him on the grounds of a women’s prison, at which point he was quickly apprehended and taken to the men’s prison.
Actually that last part isn’t quite accurate. He was first taken to the hospital where he received 36 staples and stitches to close cuts on his arm from the aforementioned wire.
Sunday night’s after-dark chase began when police tried to pull over a Pontiac G6 after Flowers failed to signal while making a turn. Rather than pull over, the car sped away, leading police on a wild, 90-mph chase.
Along with Flowers, Gabriel Huston, 20; Mitchell Buyers, 19; and Lamar Sullins, 19, were all arrested. Police say that they found seven bags of marijuana in the vehicle, and that Flowers told them he fled because he was driving with a suspended license.
