Remember Bethany “hey pretty girl, do you want to drink this?” Storro? Well, she made it up. She threw the acid in her own face! Police figured this out when her story started to change over time. The article says they searched her home. I guess I can assume they found a bunch of acid in there, but it doesn’t say.
First of all, why the hell would anyone do this? It’s acid! It’s your face! They’re not supposed to meet! And it’s not going to result in a little bit of pain. It’s fucking acid!
I have to wonder if she has Ashley Kirilow Disease. The only difference between her and Kirilow was she didn’t set up the donation funds herself. People heard her story, and set up the funds in her honour. And in her case, police are trying to get the money back to the donors. But they both seem awfully starved for attention.
One sentence struck me in this story. “She is extremely upset,” Schuman said. “In many ways, this got bigger than she expected.”
And what exactly do you expect to happen? You tell people that some random chick ran up to you and threw acid on your face and you don’t expect it to go viral?
Stuff like this really makes me angry. It’s stuff like this that makes it harder for real victims. If what happened to them is remotely tragic at all, people will start to wonder if they made it up.
