I want Research In Motion to do well, I really do. You all know how I feel about competition in marketplaces, plus RIM, in its day, was one of the greatest innovators in cell phone history and easily could be again. Oh, and we can’t forget that they’re a huge part of the local economy around here. Yes I’m from Guelph, but that’s really just a stones throw from Waterloo, and the Kitchener Waterloo area is about to get a whole lot more relevant to our lives…probably more than one post to come on that subject.
But well wishes aside, I’ve gotta be honest. It’s hard to watch this love note to developers without cringing for three and a half minutes. It’s such that I’m kind of happy I ended up with an iPhone, because the thought of a single cent of my money funding this thing’s creation is hard to handle. I’ll give them points for…oh come on, who am I kidding? Perhaps these guys really are having fun and that’s nice, but this is one of the worst kinds of corporate marketing tripe.
