I was just scrolling through Twitter, and I saw a tweet that says “Help Tim get to Korea.” It was retweeted by Blind Sports, so I thought maybe it’s our buddy Tim…
…
And it was!
Tim has definitely starred in a few New Years party stories along the way. He’s a good guy and a good friend of ours…and if you ask him to lift a picnic table, you’d better mean it, because he will! But I guess that’s why he’s a powerlifter.
Anyway, he’s trying to get to a pretty prestigious competition in Korea next May, and he’s looking to get some help funding his trip. Here’s the description off the site.
Hello my name is Tim Ekert, I am powerlifter that happens to be totally blind. I am raising funds to attend the International Blind Sports World Games in Korea in May 2015. The IBSA World Games is the highest level of competition for Blind and Visually Impaired powerlifters.
The attached youtube video is from 2007 when I won my second World Championship. I won my first World Championship in 2003 and I also won in 2013.
I have been representing Canada as a powerlifter since 1996 when I was 17 years old.
I hope that you can help me attend these games. Any amount will help.
Thanks!
Tim
I’m sure you’re asking what YouTube video he’s referring to. Here it is.
that was too darn difficult, but I did it.
So, if you want to help Tim out, trot on over here and donate.
Go Tim go!
