When I think of all the concerts, plays and things I have gone to with Trix and Tans over the years, I am very thankful that neither of them has ever taken it into their heads to chase down one of the characters, like happened in this story.
A dog ran amok at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” this week.
Spies at the Neil Simon Theatre tell us an audience member’s service dog “got away from its owner and ran after [the character] Bombalurina, performed by actress Mackenzie Warren, during the opening number.”
Luckily, a fast-moving usher “intervened and returned the wayward canine to its mortified owner.”
Mortified would be an apt description. I think I would want the floor to open up and swallow me!
I think the closest we came to causing mayhem was when I took Tansy to her first show. I don’t think she was used to such a huge crowd, and tried to leap on a passer-by. That was embarrassing enough, and thankfully has never happened again.
I could be in for trouble. This Saturday night, we’re going to see Handel’s Messiah because a couple of our friends are singing in it. I hope Tans doesn’t get it in her head that she should go visit them!
Nor do we want a repeat of the episode on Sunday at the restaurant.
No. Friggin weirdo dog. She has gotten worse in the hatch since the trip before last because those tools hit her.
Clearly my brain is slow today. It took me a few seconds of wondering what sort of rump pumpkin would hit the dog before I remembered oh yeah, she means actual tools.
I like the word “rump pumpkin.” “Rump pumpkin!”
At least the only person she attacked was you. But man, I never even had a chance of scooping her out of there or catching her mid leap. She was off before I even finished lifting the hatch.
Hehehe I took Rosalie to see Cats once. She didn’t chase anyone, but she barked like a crazy dog during intermission, because during the intermission, the cast goes and acts all cat like in the audience, and Rosalie freaked.
Hehehe wow. Now I’m really curious, and a little afraid, to see what Shmans would do.
So we’re doing a science experiment if Cats ever comes to town is what you’re saying?
Hmmm…part of me wants to, part of me is very afraid.
I have this ridiculous vision of Shmans in her headphones diving out of one of those Centre in the Square boxes and rushing the stage.
