Rapidly Developing Technology

Yesterday, I had to go get some pictures from my phone printed. I went to the “photo finishing” area of Shoppers. For some reason, the term “photo finishing” made me laugh, because this version was nothing like photo finishing as we understood it as kids…which made me go watch this Kids React video, which it appears we never posted.

Yeah, some of that looks a little fake, but I could see how kids’ minds would be blown that in the old days, you couldn’t see your pictures immediately, and you had to wait to have them developed. It’s also weird to think how social media would totally be different if it existed back then. But maybe it would be better, since who would waste film taking pictures of their food?

And now you just bring a memory stick into the store and pay 38 cents for a specific shot. Woe.

  1. I enjoy the Kids Reacting to tech videos, but I always watch them and think to myself yes kids tend to be naturally funny, but no way in hell somebody isn’t feeding them lines. Maybe I need to go back and watch some of the others again, but this one comes off about as fake as it gets. I was still amused by it though, don’t get me wrong.
