So, what do we think of new Stone Temple Pilots singer Jeff Gutt, and how do we feel about “Meadow”, the band’s new single?
I was a big fan of Scott Weiland. You don’t just go out an replace someone so talented. But honestly, I’m fine with this. It sounds like a song that a 25 years older STP would write, and the new guy seems to fit in well. We’ll see how good he is at performing the classics once they start touring and it’ll be interesting to see if the new stuff holds up beyond a single or two in the spring when the album comes out, but hopefully they’ve got a winner on their hands. The rest of the band has been through a lot. Some stability would be nice, I’m sure.
