I heard about this a few days ago, but didn’t get a chance to write it down.
I had read quite a few of his short stories, some of them creepy, some of them neat, some of them made you think about colonization and automation and machines in different ways. But it appears I barely scratched the surface.
I remember reading “Fahrenheit 451” and then “Something Wicked This Way comes” and noticing in the second book how much he really wanted kids to read. There was this awesome passage about going to the library, all about how you could experience worlds beyond your wildest dreams by simply opening a book.” I wonder how many kids that reached?
It looks like he had a long life, despite being afraid it was going to end this afternoon. He definitely left quite a legacy of books and stories.
I wish you still had all those tv and radio dramatizations of his stories that you used to have. I only ever got to listen to a few of those, but some of them were pretty neat. He was definitely a very interesting guy.
