Taking things back to a store is generally a pretty simple process. There are really only two things you need to remember to do:
1. Bring your receipt.
2. Leave the sheet full of counterfeit $100 bills you printed off just about anywhere but inside of the printer you’re trying to return.
Jarad S. Carr forgot all about that second one.
Police were called to Walmart at 3:05 p.m. Thursday because Carr, 37, of West Bend was trying to return a printer without receipts or proof he bought it from the Lake Hallie Walmart.
While inspecting the printer, a single sheet with two counterfeit $100 bills printed on it was found.
Carr insisted on returning the printer even after Walmart staffers refused to take it.
A couple of police officers attempted to talk to Carr, who made it clear that he wasn’t much interested in speaking with them. He also resisted arrest as they tried to take him into custody, which they eventually managed to do in spite of his protestations.
While searching him, 3 more of the fake hundreds were found in his possession.
Well, there goes the bail money.
Carr was charged with attempted theft by fraud, forgery and resisting arrest.
