When it comes to reasons for committing a bank robbery, you could certainly do a lot worse than Shawn Lee Canfield. He told police that he committed his because he needed money to go see his mother in Colorado (he’s in California). But now his mother will have to visit him, because when it comes to actually committing a bank robbery, you could certainly do a lot better than Shawn Lee Canfield.
Officers spotted Canfield, 25, trying to shove the money down his pants and when they brought him back to the bank, the teller identified him as the robber.
Most of the money – $2,414 – fell out of Canfield’s pants as he was walked through the police station.
During police questioning, the remainder – $334 – fell out of Canfield’s pants when he was asked to stand up, police said.
