Big-time Bicycle Blowout Bonanza!

Last week I posted a quick note about Igor Kenk, the bicycle shop owner who was caught along with another man steeling a bike off of a Toronto street. I made a joke about knowing where he gets the supply for his store; a joke which, as it turns out, isn’t as much of a joke as I thought.

Kenk is now facing upwards of 60 charges in connection with a bike theft ring that police are saying could be one of the largest in city history. More than 2000 bikes have been recovered so far, and there could be more to come. Police are working on sorting through what they have and trying to reunite people with their wheels.

So if you’re in Toronto and you’re missing a bike, come on down to the Bicycle Clinic, 927 Queen St. W., and they’ll see about giving you a sweet discount on it. Alternatively, talk to the cops, they may have it. but again you’d better act fast, because another news report I heard recently said that they’re planning on auctioning off what they can’t give back.

Good luck everybody.
