Last March, Carinwrote about Donna Greenwell, the woman who traded a couple of 4 and 5-year-old children for a cockatoo and $175.
Today I can report that the case is at its end, as Greenwell has beensentenced to 30 months of hard labour after pleading guilty to 2 counts of sale of a minor.
The couple that made up the other side of the trade, Paul and Brandy Romero, plead guilty to the same charges and were given 5 year prison sentences, both of which were suspended in exchange for testimony against Greenwell.
Anybody want to tell me what counts as hard labour as far as the Louisiana justice system is concerned? I’d love to know.
