If the police pull you over, end up searching your vehicle and finding a bunch of drugs, maybe trying to pin the stuff on some guy to whom you had recently given a ride and the vehicle’s real owner might seem like it’s worth a shot. But if you’re going to do that, be very careful when describing the person you claim to have just dropped off. It would be a shame for you to do something silly like give the police a description of yourself.
Alonza Curry, 40, of Naples was arrested in East Naples after he told deputies a backpack containing drugs belonged to a homeless man he had given a ride to earlier in the day, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
Curry told deputies he had dropped the man off at a 7-Eleven and he knew the homeless man was a drug user. Deputies say, they watched Curry drive by the 7-Eleven without letting anyone out of his car.
Curry, reportedly, described the homeless man as a tall slender man, wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts which was the same attire Curry himself, a tall slender man, was wearing.
I have no idea whether or not this was caused by Curry being high on his own supply, but what a supply he had. A large knife and a hatchet, plus the aforementioned backpack which contained pills, a scale, nearly 30 grams of meth, cocaine, and almost 8 grams of Fentanyl. He was also found to be driving around with a suitcase full of drug paraphernalia and women’s clothing.
Next time maybe try describing whoever the woman is?
Curry was arrested and jailed on charges of possession and trafficking. Quite the dramatic ending to a situation that started out with something as simple as an expired license plate.
